A Kitchen With Nothing to Hide

Landed this morning

Coastal Andhra, Cooked Properly

The Bay is two hundred metres from the kitchen door, and most of what we serve came out of it that morning. Our kitchen is open — ask to see it, and someone will walk you through. That is not a marketing line; it is the whole reason we mention it.

Three ways to eat

Wherever You Would Rather Be

  • The morning's catch on ice in a steel tray: mackerel, silver whitefish, reef fish, squid and prawns.

    Fresh catch from the Bay

  • A South Indian thali and steel serving bowls laid out on the table inside a cottage, seen from the open doorway.

    In-cottage dining

  • A buffet along the edge of the lawn at dusk: chefs serving from white-clothed counters of chafing dishes, guests queuing in festive clothes under festoon lights.

On the lawn, for four hundred

About the heat

Pitched to Your Table

Coastal Andhra food is hot, and we cook it that way by default because that is how it should taste. Tell us at the time of ordering and the kitchen will pitch it wherever you like — including for children, and for guests travelling from outside the state. Nobody has to be brave at dinner.

The kitchen itself

Standards We Will Show You

  • Open-kitchen policy — ask, and we will walk you through it
  • Fish and prawns bought the morning they are served
  • RO water used throughout the kitchen
  • Separate veg and non-veg preparation
  • Full veg menus, not an afterthought
Live food counters lit along the edge of the lawn at dusk, guests moving between them, with the mandap and banquet tables beyond and the sea on the horizon.

Allergies, Jain or satvik requirements, a child who will eat only one thing — send it ahead and the kitchen will plan for it rather than improvise on the night.
