Kothapatnam beach in the early morning: wide flat sand sweeping away, small waves breaking along the shore and a distant line of palms and low rooftops.

Experiences

Days That Ask Nothing of You

The honest version

There Is Not a Great Deal to Do

That is the point. There is a pool, a beach almost nobody else is on, and a kitchen that will feed you whenever you ask. People arrive planning day trips and mostly do not take them.

On the property

What There Is

  • The swimming pool seen the full width of the deck, with a shallow section in the foreground, planters along the far edge and tensile canopies beyond.

    The pool

  • Empty sand at Kothapatnam in the early morning, small waves breaking along the water's edge and a line of palms running back along the dunes.

    The shoreline

  • A lone walker on wet sand at sunrise, footprints trailing behind and the sun low over the Bay of Bengal.
